BROKEN (Episode 1)

I would not let this one slip out of my hand just like that (she muttered to herself )
I have had too many heart breaks, i don't think i will be able to suffer another, moreover am not getting any younger, men have taken me for granted for too long but this is the time for me to act fast. Yes, that is it i won't take chances anymore...

(Three months later)

Femi i think am pregnant.
What do you mean? That can't be possible
Why can't it be, am i not a woman?

No, that's not what i meant but..

What did you expect? When you were moaning my name and telling me how sweet i was, you did not know abi?
But You are not a baby now, how could you have let this happen?
Just listen to yourself "how could you have let this happen?" She mimicked him

I don't like the way you are sounding, like i did it all by myself what we should be more concerned about is how to take care of our baby you are here acting like a small boy.

Please Joy tell me this is all a joke he pleaded looking into her eyes wishing she would admit it was a joke .

The look in his eye made her feel sorry for him but it was no joke; the hope in his eye dropped immediately she affirmed his fear.

She stood and watched him as he paced in confusion, she was confused and scared too, he was not saying anything or even looking in her direction and different thoughts raced through her mind.

God let this plan of mine not backfire against me she prayed silently; what if he does not take responsibility? What if he insist that he would put everything on hold until a DNA is conducted after delivery?
That would mean facing the shame of single motherhood for sometime. What if he disappears and i never set eye on him again? She thought to herself again.
Ah! See where i have let my desperation land me she lamented in her heart but she  could not let fear ruin her plan so she continued to act tough.
Femi you have not said anything? what are we going to do about our baby.
What exactly do you want me to say? You know very well that i am in love with someone else, this was not meant to happen he said pointing her stomach.
Well it has happened and we need to act fast.

He stopped pacing and knelt down in front of her; please joy i beg you,  i will pay any amount, pl... he could not bring himself to say it.

Joy Looking a bit startled
Why are you begging me? You will pay any amount for what?
Joy please abort the pregnancy.
Abor.... what? God forbid! Over my dead. I never knew you were this callous. I thought you were a gentle man but now i know, you are nothing but a selfish irresponsible fellow i better leave before you strangle me, a man capable of suggesting abortion is capable of murder.
